Neonates below 44 weeks of corrected gestational age Ventilation for more than 48 hours AND new start or change of antibiotic therapy due to:
- worsening of ventilation conditions (increased oxygen requirements, worsening pCO2, increased ventilator demand)- AND/OR clinical deterioration (T > 38.0°C or < 36.5°C, P > 170/min or < 100/min, apnea >20%)- AND/OR radiological changes compatible with pneumonia- AND/OR changes of tracheal secretions- AND/OR abnormal laboratory parameters (CRP > 20mg/l, leukocytosis/-penia, I:T ratio > 0.2) Here, CRP is linked to susceptibility to pneumonia measurement.
