In analogy with PSI, CURB-65, SOFA and other prognostic scores in pneumonia, the RAPID-score (renal failure, age, non-purulence, (hospital acquired) infection source, dietary factors (=low albumin)) was recently developed as a prognostic score in patients with pleural infection and includes 5 non-interventional factors [11]. Here, ALB is linked to susceptibility to pneumonia measurement.
