Across a series of new-user cohorts consisting of patients with type 2 diabetes in the UK, we found that the incidence of acute kidney injury, respiratory tract infections, and acute pancreatitis were 4.8, 104, and 0.9 per 1,000 patient-years, respectively, among initiators of a DPP4 inhibitor. This evidence concerns the gene DPP4 and acute pancreatitis.
