Bilberry extract, which is rich in antioxidant anthocyanins, showed anti-inflammatory effects in vivo, e.g. suppression of LPS-induced inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 transcripts, and iNOS, TNF-α and NF-κB protein levels in liver inflammation [71], compatible with our results.
