Figure 2 demonstrates the homozygous loss in the majority of tumor cells (Figure 2A), whereas a smaller portion of samples displayed heterozygous loss (Figure 2B) or no loss (Figure 2C). Of the 12 MPM tumor samples analyzed, 66% (8/12, cut-off 15%) showed homozygous and 16% (2/12, cut-off 40%) showed heterozygous loss of CDKN2A. These data indicate that FISH provides a qualitative presentation of genomic deletion in MPM. The gene discussed is CDKN2A; the disease is neoplasm.
