The anti-tumor agent, 2-methoxyestradiol (2ME2) (a naturally occurring derivative of estradiol), the potent Trk inhibitor and anti-tumor agent, K252a, [73] expression of the homeobox transcription factor, Hox-A5 [74], small molecule inhibitors of CDK4 [75,76] and the proteasome inhibition [77] have also been shown to induce nucleolar sequestration of RelA, which is associated with, or causally involved in, the induction of apoptosis. The gene discussed is CDK4; the disease is neoplasm.
