TRPV1 and cardiac hypertrophy: In TRP subfamily, TRPV1 is known as a nonselective cationic channel and is also found in the heart and circulatory system.15 As an example, increasing TRPV1 channel expression was detected in hypertrophic myocardium.15 Importantly, TRPV3 was found to co‐express and form heteromultimers with TRPV1.16 In light of the close proximity between genes for TRPV1 and TRPV3, it is interesting to consider that TRPV3 is related with cardiac hypertrophy.
