The evidence on the effects of endocrine therapies on vascular disease risks was mixed: most studies were consistent with a higher risk of myocardial infarction and angina in aromatase inhibitor users compared with tamoxifen users, and there was a suggestion that this may be partly driven by a protective effect of tamoxifen on these outcomes; inconsistent results were found for the associations with stroke. Here, CYP19A1 is linked to myocardial infarction.
