HOXA9 and myeloid neoplasm: Following heat shock at 24 hpf, NUP98-HOXA9;Cre embryos had perturbed hematopoiesis promoting myeloid fates, and also showed reduced apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in response to irradiation, correlating with increased levels of bcl2. 23% of NUP98-HOXA9;Cre fish developed myeloid tumors with a latency of 19–23 months.
