When we performed a gene-based test using pathogenic variants, four genes were significantly associated with breast cancer (BRCA2: P = 9.87 × 10−58, OR = 16.4; BRCA1: P = 3.71 × 10−36, OR = 33.0; PALB2: P = 5.79 × 10−8, OR = 9.0; and TP53: P = 5.93 × 10−5, OR = 8.5, Table 2). This evidence concerns the gene BRCA1 and breast carcinoma.
