Contrastingly, the 51 kDa form of splenic TNF-α was elevated in SLE mice compared to their vehicle-treated counterparts following LPS challenge (4.2 × 106 ± 4.3 × 105 vs. 2.4 × 106 ± 2.1 × 105 intensity units, p = 0.002), while there was no change between LPS-challenged and vehicle-treated controls (1.7 × 106 ± 1.7 × 105 vs. 1.6 × 106 ± 3.4 × 105 intensity units, p = 0.705). Here, TNF is linked to systemic lupus erythematosus.
