The BRCA2 rare nonsense variant (rs11571833) has previously been associated with moderately (OR ranging between 1.26–6.0) increased susceptibility to lung, pancreatic, esophageal and breast cancer [29, 30, 31, 32] was also reported to be significantly over-represented in melanoma patients (OR = 2.80, p = 0.035) [33]. The gene discussed is BRCA2; the disease is breast cancer.
