Subgroup analysis of T2DM and stable COPD revealed that metformin users, compared with nonusers, had lower risk of all-cause mortality in male and female patients, those <65 and ≥65 years of age, CCI = 0 and ≥2, DCSI = 0 and ≥2, 0–1 and 2 OADs, and with and without insulin therapy. This evidence concerns the gene INS and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
