Theories postulated for the hyperglobulinaemia is the polyclonal B cell activation.[27–29] The viral proteins (glycoprotein 41) is said to be responsible for the activation of the polyclonal B cell which occurs as the infection progresses.[27–29]However, the serum albumin was lower in the HIV group compared to the non HIV group and this may still be a reflection of the malnourished state rather than the HIV infection. The gene discussed is ALB; the disease is HIV infectious disease.
