While serum elicited actin reorganization and assembly of paxillin in the focal adhesion plaque (Fig. 2a and b and Additional file 1: Figure S5), treatment of ISL abolished these two serum-induced events in lung cancer cells (Fig. 2a and b and Additional file 1: Figure S5), suggesting that ISL deters cell migration by impairing cytoskeleton reorganization.
