Interestingly, many proteins that interact with ZFYVE27 has already been associated with ALS (e.g. VAPB), HSP (e.g KIF5a, PLP1, ATL1, SPG2, REEP1), and Charcot-Marie Toot disease (e.g. HK1), further confirming a pivotal role for ZFYVE27 in protein interactome domains in many diseases, affecting motor function. The gene discussed is HK1; the disease is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
