In the X-linked Tabby mutant in mice (Mus musculus), mutations in the mouse ortholog of the EDA gene cause a phenotype similar to that observed in humans, and X-linked HED has also been confirmed in dogs (Canis lupus familiaris) and cattle (Bos taurus) [65–68]. The gene discussed is EDA; the disease is hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia.
