Accidentally, Brud et al. [40] found that a novel non-polyadenylated circular RNA (circ-ANRIL) in 2010, which can resist RNAse R digestion, was associated with atherosclerosis risk, but the underlying pathogenesis related to circ-ANRIL in atherosclerosis was unclear. The gene discussed is CDKN2B-AS1; the disease is atherosclerosis.
