CRP and Pleural effusion: In univariable analysis, age, pleural effusion, comorbidities (including congestive heart failure, dementia, and malignancy), vital signs (including systolic blood pressure, respiratory and heart rates), and laboratory findings (including arterial pH, hematocrit, platelet count, and PaO2, PaO2/FiO2, BUN, creatinine, albumin, hemoglobin, ALP, CRP, lactate, procalcitonin, and NT-ProBNP levels) were significant prognostic factors for mortality in patients with CAP.
