Importantly, during both L. major IL-81 and L. major LV39 infections, KRT14cre IL-4Rα−/lox BALB/c mice developed progressive footpad swelling, similar to littermate control IL-4Rα−/lox BALB/c mice, and exhibited similarly high parasite loads in the infected footpads and draining popliteal lymph nodes and dissemination to the spleen (Fig. 2). This evidence concerns the gene IL4R and infection.
