The anaphylatoxins bind to their respective receptors: the C5a receptor 1 and 2 (C5aR1, C5aR2) and the C3a receptor (C3aR) (6), and the C5a-C5aR1-axis seems to be involved in atherogenesis and CAD (7–9). This evidence concerns the gene C3AR1 and coronary artery disorder.
