Recently, we reported that IL-1α, IL-1β, CXCL8, and CRP are significantly elevated in stool from PD patients compared to controls (Houser et al., 2018), and that serum levels of TNF, IFNy, and neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin levels are significantly and consistently different in PD over a 24-h period (Eidson et al., 2017). The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is Parkinson disease.
