Progranulin has recently been demonstrated as a Notch ligand [185] and therefore YB-1/progranulin may also modulate Notch signaling, which may be of relevance in a number of diseases, e.g. diabetic nephropathy, systemic lupus erythematosus, liver fibrosis, and infectious disease. This evidence concerns the gene GRN and systemic lupus erythematosus.
