The relationship between the anatomic location of GnRH neuron somata and cellular heterogeneity has not yet been fully characterized, but the present data support a working model in which the location of the GnRH neuron soma helps to shape the functional outcome in the face of epilepsy, in concert with changes in hippocampal-hypothalamic projections differentially targeting the MS, POA, and AHA. Here, GNRH1 is linked to epilepsy.
