In the present study we investigated the relation between GS and established TME markers by comparing tissue expression profiles of steroid hormone receptors (SHR: androgen receptor (AR), progesterone receptor (PR) and estrogen receptor alpha (ERα)), CAF markers (CD34, caveolin-1 (CAV-1) and alpha smooth muscle actin (αSMA)) and the vascular marker CD31 in paired PCa and prostate non-tumour (PNT) tissue. This evidence concerns the gene PGR and posterior cortical atrophy.
