INS and Obesity: In a cross-sectional study of children with a family history of obesity, examining the associations among moderate-to-vigorous physical activity, fitness, sedentary behavior and insulin sensitivity using two markers of characterization (i.e., accelerometer and screen-time), it was found that physical activity was correlated with indices of insulin sensitivity independent of fitness and sedentary behaviors; however, this association was attenuated when adiposity was considered (29).
