In response to IV infection TNFα promotes the secretion of the antiviral cytokine families: type I, II, and III IFNs through upregulating RIG-I and toll-like receptor 3, Myeloid differentiation primary response 88 (MyD88), TIR-domain-containing adapter-inducing interferon-β (TRIF), and IRF7 genes. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and infection.
