Majority of PCs are hormone-secreting tumors, including adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) secreting and prolactin (PRL) secreting tumors (Hirohata et al., 2014), and as such, antibodies for these hormones are used to aid in the diagnosis of pituitary tumor origin (Ragel and Couldwell, 2004).
