Inflammatory processes in glomerulonephritis strongly depend on the pro-inflammatory chemokines CXCL8 (interleukin-8 (IL-8)), CCL2 (monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1)) and CXCL2 (macrophage inflammatory protein-2α (MIP-2α)) to direct neutrophils and macrophages towards the glomerulus [10–13]. This evidence concerns the gene CCL2 and glomerulonephritis.
