The E‐cadherin to N‐cadherin “switch” exerts critical role in cancer progression being essential for enhanced cell motility and migration.26 Our results are in keeping with these observations as epithelial RGM‐1 cells cocultured with differentiated fibroblasts revealed the fall in expression of E‐cadherin mRNA and the rise in N‐cadherin and vimentin mRNA expression. This evidence concerns the gene CDH2 and cancer.
