Moreover, for the study of corneal biomechanics in keratoconus, we examined the correlation between CH and CRF and cytokines and discovered negative strong correlations between the variables, suggestive of the fact that an increase in the level of tear cytokines is accompanied by a decrease in CH and CRF as reflected in Table 2, most notable in the case of IL-10 (r = −0.87 and p < 0.0001 for CH and r = −0.87 and p < 0.0001 for CRF). This evidence concerns the gene IL10 and keratoconus.
