Further laboratory workup with tumor markers and neuroendocrine markers revealed carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) of 3.1 ng/ml (reference range 0.0–3.1) and chromogranin A, and 24-hour urine 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5-HIAA) within normal limits. This evidence concerns the gene CEACAM5 and neoplasm.
