In the present study, we revealed that loss of Hif-1α gene suppresses peroxisomal fatty acid oxidation by inhibiting induction of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)α coactivator, lipin1, and thereby aggravating lipid accumulation in the liver after chronic exposure to a CDD. This evidence concerns the gene HIF1A and craniodiaphyseal dysplasia.
