ZKSCAN3 is a candidate oncoprotein, and its expression is frequently upregulated in human cancers such as colorectal cancer, prostate cancer, bladder cancer and multiple myeloma [3,7,8,9,10,11] Yang et al. [7] demonstrated that ZKSCAN3 was overexpressed in colorectal tumor tissue compared with adjacent nonmalignant mucosa, determined by RT-PCR, which was found to be partly due to gene amplification based on Southern blotting analysis. The gene discussed is ZKSCAN3; the disease is cancer.
