In our study we newly found that both diabetic and atherogenic dyslipidemia risk related ACE2 SNPs (rs2074192 and rs879922) were respectively linked to moderate and high risk of CAS ≥ 50%, which previously reported that both loci had nothing to do with the recurrence risk of stroke [38] but were associated with sudden cardiac arrest [39] and retinopathy [40]. The gene discussed is ACE2; the disease is retinal disorder.
