TP53 and leiomyosarcoma: The lead SNP at 11q (rs141379009) resides in the 22nd intron of ATM, and the SNP at 17 p in the 3′-untranslated region of TP53. ATM and TP53 are involved in DNA damage response (Guleria and Chandna, 2016), and they are among the relatively few genes that have been found to be recurrently mutated in leiomyosarcoma (Lee et al., 2017).
