CD14 and schizophrenia: We have also identified exaggerated transcriptional changes in ABCG2, IFITM, ICAM1, OCLN, CDH5, CD163, CD14, and CD16 mRNAs in the “high inflammatory” subgroup of schizophrenia, demonstrating that some people with schizophrenia have greater molecular changes in the brain endothelial and white blood cell markers compared to others with schizophrenia.
