RPL17 and cancer: Based on these findings, the authors concluded that predictive information is dependent on the presence of an activated immune microenvironment, and not on the expression of specific genes, and that the importance of the immune infiltrate was confirmed by an independent and unbiased GSEA, showing that gene sets related to crosstalk between immune cells and cancer cells, PD-1 signaling, and INF-γ signaling, were among the most highly enriched in chemo-sensitive tumors.
