In multivariable analysis, the proportional odds of being in a higher quartile of IFN-γ distribution was almost 3-fold higher for persons with LTBI compared to persons without LTBI, after controlling for age, sex, history of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, end stage renal disease, malignancy, tobacco use, obesity and recent AMI (adjusted odds ratio; 2.93, 95% confidence interval, 1.8–4.9). This evidence concerns the gene IFNG and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
