During gram‐negative bacteria‐induced sepsis, lipopolysaccharide (LPS) drives the systemic production of inflammatory genes, such as interleukin (IL)‐1, IL‐6, IL‐8 and tumor necrosis factor‐alpha (TNF‐α), which all induce sepsis‐associated pathology. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL8 and Sepsis.
