Recently, a prospective study carried on a group of 23 patients with uveitis, who were stratified in two categories according to the presence or absence of a systemic rheumatic disease and who were sub-classified into those who were HLA-B27 positive and HLA-B-27 negative, and a control group of 16 patients with uncomplicated cataracts, showed that in uveitis, patients serum and aqueous humor concentrations of TNFα were higher compared to the control group. Here, TNF is linked to uveitis.
