A previous study from our centre has implemented the nomenclature dilutional capacity to refer to the above-described preoperative coagulation strength measured with ROTEM and specific coagulation factor analyses (fibrinogen, FXIII activity, thrombin-antithrombin complex [TAT] and plasmin-α2-antiplasmin complex [PAP]) to individualise the colloid use to avoid colloid induced dilutional coagulopathies (Nilsson et al. 2016). The gene discussed is PLG; the disease is blood coagulation disease.
