In conclusion, vaspin is an adipocytokine derived from visceral adipose tissue that is closely related to obesity and metabolic syndrome; vaspin can improve the insulin resistance of rats by activating the IRS/PI3K/Akt/Glut signalling pathway and inhibiting the IκBα/NF-κB inflammatory pathway. Here, SLC2A1 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
