These findings were consistent with a study conducted by Nicolau et al. (2013) in Spain that showed there was no significant differences in duration of diabetes, diabetes treatment (insulin and oral agents), glycohemoglobin level among type 2 diabetic patients with depression symptoms, who used an antidepressant (citalopram) and those who did not use an antidepressant [14]. This evidence concerns the gene INS and depressive symptom measurement.
