IFNAR1 and neoplasm: The importance of type I IFN pathway in modulating CAR-T-cell efficacy was demonstrated by the work of Katlinski et al. They have tested CAR-T cells against fibrinogen activated protein (FAP) generated from lymphocytes of mice with normal and downregulated IFNAR, and showed that IFNAR1 downregulation on CTLs compromised their viability and hence their function in the tumor microenvironment (64).
