In this cross-sectional study, we investigate further the association of the levels in CSF of acute phase proteins (CRP and SAA), IL-6 and IL-8, as well as monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1); also called chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 2, a chemokine that is associated with microglial activation; and YKL-40 in patients with PD or APD as compared to healthy controls. The gene discussed is CCL2; the disease is Parkinson disease.
