Nuclear localization of the fusion protein can be detected by anti-STAT6 antibodies[4] and STAT6 immunohistochemistry (IHC) is currently a recommended diagnostic tool by the latest WHO classification, since no nuclear STAT6 staining is present in meningiomas or in other frequent meningeal tumours, thus helping in the differential diagnosis.[1, 4]. This evidence concerns the gene STAT6 and meningioma.
