Similarly, Schulze K et al. [41] detected ≥1 CTCs in 18/59 HCC patients and found that OS was significantly shorter in the CTC-positive cohort than in the CTC-negative cohort and therefore suggested that EpCAM-positive CTCs are frequently detectable in patients with advanced HCC and exhibit prognostic value in terms of OS and vascular invasion.
