The down-regulation or silencing of UHRF1 in cancer cells resulted in the increase of DNA damage and the inhibition of cancer cell proliferation, as well as cell cycle arrest and caspase-8 dependent apoptosis (Tien et al. 2011), and up-regulation of p53 or p73 (Sidhu and Capalash 2017). This evidence concerns the gene UHRF1 and cancer.
