NFKB1 and autism: This finding is supported by the recent work of Lia et al. [28] in which PLA2 and COX-2 were among the proteins that induced a response to NF-κB activation after subcutaneous injection of aluminum into a mouse as a xenobiotic with immune-stimulating and neurotoxic effects that might be related to the remarkable increase of autism through the routine exposure of infants to aluminum worldwide.
